Hammer?

Or just replace them and let that be that.

Please, Please don't get the nearly purple lights that blind the shit out of everybody else on the road.

Don't worry, I was thinking of getting these conventional ones with the black bezel around the edge. I hate HIDs just as much as everyone else.

Have you noticed any rust in the rocker panel? I tried to deal with it myself, but it's really too much rust. Pretty much my rocker panel is held in place by the paint. I found a replacement rocker, I'll need to get it painted and have the bad one cut out and replaced. That'll be a big ass chore I'm not thrilled with.

I basically didn't realize just how much rust there was, because it happened really quickly. This winter essentially wrecked my car.

Screw those. Time for a rally bar. Everything should have a rally bar. I bet you could fit 4 lights on there.

My rust actually isn't bad at all, considering the car's spent its whole life in coastal New England. The panel/bracket on the underside that the sway bar rests against is on it's way out but there's no structural rust, and nothing immediately visible on the body.

my 04 is rusting from the inside out. The rocker panels are so far gone its just sad. The drivers side has several rust holes and its basically totally lost. I tried the fiberglas kit, but i basically cant get where i need to in order to fix it. I put on what i could to try and slow the rust, and im trying to find a place that will cut the rockers off and weld new ones in place, then ill get the maaco special so it doesnt look stupid, and call it a day. Literally as i was painting the stuff on, pieces were still falling off. As much as i wire brushed beforehand and cleaned, its a total loss.

I let it harden for about 3 hours, covered it in duct tape, and went about my day. At least you cant really tell unless youre really close to the car...

Supposedly with those facelifted models (2004+) they skimped on the rustproofing, and other things, in order to keep the car affordable.

Yeah, funny enough, I asked a few guys who were Neon techs, and they said it was basically the second gen platform, but mostly 02+. It's just rough with this car. Two transmissions, timing belt, water pump, engine mounts, then hitting a deer, now this rust...and a body shop had the car for basically a month, and never told us about the rust that they would have seen when working on it. People.

Whatever, I hope I can find a reasonable place to do the rockers, the car definitely has no resale value without doing that part.

Whatever my next car is will get full under body rust treatment before I do any serious driving in it.

From what I've seen, about half of the Neons were lemons and the other half were rock-solid, with nothing in between. I'm lucky to have gotten one of the good ones. I've owned it for about two years now and the I've never had to do any major work besides regular maintenance.

My house is just cursed then, so good for you, take good care of it! They're fun when they work the way they're supposed to.

My sister had a Lapis Blue 1996, and like all other ones, it turned into a blue/brown cow when the paint started peeling.

I haven't lost my hope in Mopar, but I'm not keeping this neon any longer that I have to. I'll probably look to part it out rather than make someone else struggle with it.
